Children with Speech Sound Disorders (SSD) categorized according to MLU development were compared on various language measures to a group of age-matched children with typical development in pre-kindergarten and grade one in the hope of identifying early characteristics of children with poor language outcomes. The children with SSD consisted of one group with good pre-kindergarten and good grade one MLU relative to comparison children one group with poor pre-kindergarten and good grade one MLU and one group with poor pre-kindergarten and poor grade one MLU. Significant differences were found among some of the groups on finite verb morphology and embedded clause production.

"Does This Mean That The Apocalypse Is Delayed?" posted by ~Ray

You mean Iran isn’t 3.5 seconds away from the nuke they will try and destroy Israel with and by doing so bring about the coming of the 12 Imam that will communicate the final battle between good and evil and ? A new assessment by American intelligence agencies concludes that Iran halted its nuclear weapons schedule in 2003 and that the schedule remains on hold contradicting an assessment two years ago that Tehran was working inexorably toward building a bomb. … what ordain the upper-right-wingnuts talk about now? I suspect they ordain now revert to defending the incompetence and ignorance of a President who seems to not know things that were told to him a year ago. <a href="" call=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <code> <em> <i> <strike> <strong>

"The One and The Many: Real smiles mean something" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-25 19:16:22

I've just come back from taking my dad to tour his family in Singapore and Malaysia. I was reading 'One From Many' by Dee Hock on the way (in between watching Spider Man 3). Large organizations (in fact all organizations) are comfort struggling with this basic problem: how to treat large numbers of populate as individuals. I think of it as the 'one and the many' problem which is why Hock's book call appealed to me. Anyway it struck me that it can be done and the flight was an example. I was watching the Singapore Airline cabin crew move down the plane towards us with headsets or something they were handing out and every person they handed one to - even though the connection was a second or less - received a very real grimace. In less than a second there was a personal engagement and acknowledgement repeated hundreds of times drink the cut. This is no mean feat as we can all tell instinctively the difference between a real and a re-create smile. There is something called *. And there is what some undergo dubbed the 'Pan Am grimace' - the meaningless. 'have a nice day' smile that accompanies most service transactions. The chairman of The Henley Centre for Research told me a few years ago that despite all the investment in sophisticated Customer Relationship Management systems and automated call centres the future for customer relations lies in the go of real populate interacting with real people because that's what customers want in most cases. He's clearly right. It's just a challenge of resolving that 'one and many' thing. * (From Wikipedia if you can't be bothered to click above): The "Duchenne grimace" after the researcher Guillaume Duchenne is the most studied and involves the movement of both the zygomaticus study muscle near the mouth and the orbicularis oculi muscle near the eyes. An example of the smile is shown in the girl's smile in the lay of the page. It is believed that the Duchenne grimace is only produced as an involuntary response to genuine emotion and is therefore what one could call the "genuine" smile. Due to the involvement of the go across near the eyes it is sometimes said that one can tell whether or not a smile is "real" by whether or not it "reaches the eyes". The "Pan American grimace" on the other hand is the voluntary smile involving only the zygomaticus major muscle to show politeness; for example by a flight attendant on the former airline of the same name. Considered "insincere" this write of grimace has also been called the "Professional Smile" by David Foster Wallace in his comedic bunco story "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again".

"A study in closeness" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 22:19:43

If measure week’s lesson was “to observe,” perhaps this week’s lesson could be “to be aware.” Is there someone in your life who may have pulled away without your realizing it? Any intentions of doing something about it if you realize the say is “yes”? Just a Monday musing. I muse. I’m a muser which is not quite the same thing as being amusing but I’ll take it! Thanks. Chani. I am so glad you visited and was loving reading your blog. I tried to google “include all” today looking for words desire the ones you have in your Serenity post and couldn’t sight anything that really spoke to me. Isn’t it wonderful how the universe works and brought you to me instead. I am very grateful. Thank you for sharing those thoughts and pictures. Hi Beth! convey you for your kind compliments. I am humbled and happy to be considered both by you. And yes not doing something is definitely an option (and sometimes a very preferable one at that). I undergo an old friend I open recently online who doesn’t be to be as interested in reconnecting as I am. In the old days that would undergo bothered me tremendously. Now I’m realizing that sometimes that just happens and not only is it authorise often it’s really for the beat. I express emotion every measure I think about him talking about thinking because it’s true that I have thunk myself into quite a few quandaries. Better when I just conclude. Here’s to thinking and feeling and whichever combination of the two brings you more peace and happiness. Cheers! Your analogy works as desire as BOTH people in question not only accept but act on the need. One person doing all the bring home the bacon is desire one-sided chemistry on a go out. So as much as I like that a picture tells a thousand stories … I wish these two don’t express the WHOLE story. Ah the observant journalist. Aren’t these pictures wild? In looking at them. I thought how I could undergo nearly photoshopped myself into the different positions. There is much here that is being said. Grasshoppah. Reesepie ~ Thank you! Being able to be with a man where my smile isn’t strained is such a blessing! So just last week my dude and I were getting ready to go to sleep. I was kissing him and realized that I was the only one leaning in. Man that pissed me off. Finally I said “You know. I shouldn’t have to work this hard.”And I rolled over to go to rest. He rubbed my approve a little and asked what was wrong. I told him I entangle desire he was just there while I was actually in the moment. Being a guy. I am not sure he really understood the difference and why I was upset. But he did defend and I have noticed him being more affectionate the past few days. Ian ~ convey you. You are too kind. We like that rock star/ actress thing that Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have going. We may never have been big measure but we definitely have our own little mutual adoration society going on. (Okay so Paul Newman isn’t a move back and forth feature but you understand.) I don’t know what it is about performers but I’m hoping to evaluate it out someday. ACG ~ I can so conclude you. I’m sure that I’ve been on the other side too where I wasn’t leaning as much as I should undergo; but I do know that it always feels nicer when the bend is mutual. I was feeling mischievous this day and just decided to let the enter capture what was going on (which I imagine is partly why my grimace is so big even though I’m leaning approve and out). It’s good for us to remember that populate won’t always be where we evaluate they should be or hope they are if we’re not paying attention. I can tell you that Jon didn’t like getting caught like this — He prides himself on being aware. V. ~ very much so. I was feeling pretty mischievous in the first one. I absolutely agree that together is better. And maybe it’s just my hold back issues talking (hahahahhaa) but I have affect with the idea that one person would be making a lot more effort than the other most of the measure. You can or for a definition for a definition or slang/buzzwords or help someone out - to a request for a definition for an idiom catchphrase buzzword or slang. Usually heard and seen as "pussy whipped" or "pussy-whipped," "pussy wipped" may be either a new variation or a misunderstanding. Used as an adjective to refer to a male who is under the thumb of a female. Concluding that the female grants the male sexual favors can be a misstep; however that is commonly assumed. "Whipped" by itself is used to mean "extremely obedient to one's significant other," according to The Online Slang Dictionary (http://tinyurl com/ysw8w4). That's likely to be a recently coined egalitarian usage. The Online Etymology Dictionary (http://tinyurl com/37s23u) says "pussy-whipped" was "first attested 1956," but that seems to be far too recent. Check with some older gentleman (say in his 80s or 90s) and he may tell you he heard the term used when he was a teenager perhaps in the 1920s or 1930s. The call is so obvious it could well undergo been around for decades by then.
